Heading into the Holiday Season…

Wishing all my readers and fellow Bloggers a “HAPPY DIWALI AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR”.As the entire America waits for the Holiday Season, my Holiday Season has already begun with Diwali.
I am eagerly awaiting some surprises from Apple. Hoping that they announce the Second Generation of MAC BOOK PROs soon.Eventhough, I was expecting them to announce it during this week as they are still a month away from Thanksgiving, the rumors sites are all predicting an announcement during late 2006, but with Apple you never know.
On Interesting notes, Microsoft released the Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows XP. And guess what??, first security bug was found within 24 hrs of its release:D
Ironically though its caption says “We heard you : You wanted it easier and more secure”.
Also the reports claim that, this bug is already fixed in version of IE that ships with Windows Vista, so now does Microsoft wants users to Switch Operating systems just to get a secure browser?
And If I am talking about 2 biggies, I cannot forget the third one: Google.
Google was at campus last Thursday, and their presentation was really good. You can read more about it at Reshma`s blog. The best thing about working at Google,well.. Free Gourmet Meals :D

Old posts retrieved

Well, got my old posts back up, but in the process lost the 2 news posts made to the blog.So this is going to look more of an inconsistent blog with gap of almost 7 months.

Was also partially successful in modifying the K2 theme to makethe blog look consistent with the rest of the site. There are certain components of the current theme which I want to retain and modify some others, so I think this may require some work, rather than me just replacing my the current CSS with my CSS.
The photo-album script looks stable now, but I may move my photos to Flickr and use their public API to show up the photos on my site. This makes more sense because uploading photos on Flickr will make managing photos easier rather than dumping them at some place on my site.

MacBookPro - Power outside, Intel inside

Apple has finally started shipping the MacBookPro. This machine comes with an Intel Core-duo processor, thats a new technology from Intel. Its two processors built into a single chip.
Cannot comment how good they are compared to Centrino ones, however according to Apple, they are 4-5X faster than the current high-end model of Powerbook. Features? Well to name a few
1. Inbuilt iSight Cam
2. Backlit Keyboard
3. 256MB Graphics Memory!!!
4. Comes with an IR receiver with Front-row and remote.
5.New version of iLife , that now includes iWeb.(Review Coming Soon)
6.MagSafe technology for powerconnector.

The list of features seem impressive. The online reviews are also awesome. BUT, still not affordable.
Will have to wait till, Apple comes out with the iBooks with Intel Inside.
